Before Fuqua:
Before Fuqua, I worked at Northwell Health as a Senior Finance & Operations Management Associate, where I drove strategic initiatives to enhance operational efficiencies, streamline financial management, and support the delivery of high-quality care within New York State’s largest healthcare provider. My work included spearheading projects to optimize resource allocation and improve system-wide performance. Additionally, I played a pivotal role in launching Long Island’s first lung transplant program by facilitating UNOS and Joint Commission accreditation and compliance. This involved developing a comprehensive 327-page digital policy manual, ensuring robust risk management and operational alignment with industry standards.
Why Did You Choose Fuqua?
I chose Fuqua because of its emphasis on collaborative leadership, exemplified by the “Team Fuqua” culture, which fosters an inclusive and supportive environment where diverse perspectives thrive. Its robust Healthcare Sector Management (HSM) program aligns perfectly with my career aspirations, offering unparalleled opportunities to deepen my expertise in healthcare strategy and innovation. The Duke community and its mission to positively impact the world resonate deeply with my values, especially my commitment to advancing equity and improving access to healthcare for underserved populations.
Why Did You Decide to Pursue the HSM Certificate?
The HSM Certificate offers an unparalleled opportunity to deepen my expertise in healthcare strategy while providing access to top-tier resources and faculty. It enables me to better understand the complexities of the healthcare ecosystem and effectively address critical challenges in health equity, accessibility, and innovation.
What Has Been Your Favorite Health Care Course or Experience at Fuqua?
My favorite experience at Fuqua has been engaging with the HCAAB Mentoring Program, where I’ve had the chance to connect with seasoned professionals who share a passion for transforming healthcare. The mentorship has not only deepened my industry insights but also inspired me to think more broadly about how I can contribute to meaningful change. Equally impactful has been my involvement with Fuqua on Board, where I’ve had the privilege of serving a local nonprofit organization. This experience has allowed me to apply my healthcare knowledge in a tangible way, helping shape governance and strategic decisions that directly benefit the community. These experiences resonate deeply with my values of service and collaboration, reinforcing my belief that leadership is most powerful when it uplifts others and drives sustainable, equitable impact.
After Fuqua:
After Fuqua, I plan to leverage my MBA and HSM Certificate to drive impactful change in healthcare.
