Before Fuqua

Before joining Fuqua, my career was dedicated to the MedTech industry, where I held various roles across leading organizations. I began as a Downstream and later an Upstream Product Manager for a Digital Surgery platform at Wright Medical (now Stryker). Following that, I served as a Global Upstream Product Manager for a digital remote Heart Failure device at Abbott. Seeking a broader perspective, I transitioned into consulting, joining Deloitte’s global MedTech practice. There, I specialized in growth and commercial strategy projects, partnering with the world’s largest MedTech companies.

Why did you choose Fuqua?

I chose Fuqua for three primary reasons. First, I was drawn to its smaller, close-knit, and globally diverse class. Second, Duke and Fuqua’s strong reputation in healthcare resonated with my professional background, especially given my experience collaborating with Duke Health and its groundbreaking biomedical innovations. Lastly, as a local to the Raleigh-Durham area, my wife and I appreciate the vibrant life sciences start-up community that Duke has played a significant role in fostering.

Why did you decide to pursue the HSM Certificate?

After graduating from Fuqua, I aim to continue working in and around the MedTech industry. I believe HSM will provide a comprehensive understanding of how providers, payers, and digital health shape the MedTech value chain. Additionally, Fuqua stood out during my research as one of the few MBA programs offering a dedicated course on MedTech, further solidifying my decision.

What has been your favorite health care course or experience at Fuqua?

I thoroughly enjoyed the HSM Bootcamp and HSM Seminar courses, which provided valuable insights into the key challenges and opportunities in healthcare. I am particularly excited to further expand my knowledge through the Health Management Policy course (Week in D.C.) and the dedicated MedTech course.

After Fuqua

I plan to return to Deloitte Consulting to further help shape and grow its MedTech strategy practice. With a strong interest in novel MedTech innovations, I am interested in investing and capital allocation within the industry. To this end, I am pursuing internships with industry-leading capital allocators to help shape the future of industry.
