Fuqua HSM students take part in a wide range of activities that build industry knowledge, leadership skills, and professional networks. From attending speaker series and industry panels to participating in case competitions and site visits, students engage directly with health care leaders and real-world challenges.

Health Care Club
The Duke MBA Health Care Club (HCC) is a student-led club that helps educate members on career opportunities and industry trends throughout all facets of the health care sector. The club provides a forum for individuals to interact with industry professionals and alumni from prominent health care organizations.

HSM Fellows
The Fellows program institutionalizes a formal avenue for student input into HSM. They are passionate about HSM and represent the program when talking to prospective Fuqua students, current students, and alumni.
HSM Fellows serve as leaders and mentors and play a key role in shaping the HSM student experience. As approachable resources and engaged leaders, HSM Fellows help build a strong, collaborative community for students exploring or advancing careers in the health sector.

Margolis Scholars Program
The Margolis Scholars Program in Health Policy & Management is a prestigious, university-wide initiative housed within the Duke-Margolis Institute for Health Policy that supports students committed to improving health, health equity, and health care delivery through leadership and innovative policy. Scholars come from diverse disciplines across Duke’s graduate and professional schools, creating a highly collaborative, interdisciplinary learning environment.
The program offers up to $6,000 annually for research and experiential learning, along with faculty and alumni mentorship, seminars, and connections to health policy leaders. Fuqua Health Sector Management students are encouraged to apply and join a dynamic community shaping the future of the health sector.
